Psychoanalysts have been united
in schools, institutes and professional associations of psychoanalysts for more
than 100 years, since Freud. There are many of them : regional, national and
international. Some are small and modest, others bring together hundreds or several
thousand professionals.
Some associations organize
education and train future psychoanalysts, others do not. But all of them
regularly bring their members together for a work of reflection, research and
common questioning. The fruits of this work can be found in specialized
journals and books published around the world, by both small and large
publishers.
Personally, I am currently a
member of the Association freudienne de Belgique, l'AFB (which is a branch of
the Association lacanienne internationale, the ALI).
